American athlete Molly Huddle learned that lesson the hard way when she started to celebrate finishing 3rd before she reached the line in the womens 10,000m at the World Championships in China. Her teammate Emily Infeld lunged at the line to finish in front of her.

Prior to this, Huddles best performances were 6th in the 5000m at the World Championships in 2013 and 11th in the 5000m at the 2012 Olympics. The unfortunate thing is that this opportunity to win a major medal like this may never happen again as these races are usually dominated by African athletes.

John Treacy did the same to Steve Ovett back in the 80,s. Think its great to see it happening. If your arrogant enough to raise arms before finish line its your own fault.(Unless you are miles ahead).
