The IAAF World Championships start this coming Saturday in Beijing, China and 16 Irish athletes are taking part. It's unlikely that for most there will be any medals and getting to a final would be an accomplishment in itself. The one exception is Rob Heffernan who is going there to defend his World Championship title which he won in Moscow in 2013.
The time difference between China and Ireland is 7 hours so some events are in the small hours of the morning.
