Up to last Friday (6th July 2012), only 10 men had ever run faster than 12:50 in a 5,000 metre race. The last time someone had broken it was back in July 2007.
All that changed on Friday evening when no less than six runners went sub 12:50 at the 5,000m at a Diamond League race in Paris.
