As always, there was a huge turnout for this years Dublin City Marathon with 16,320 runners crossing the finish line.
The star performance from a Cork point of view was that of Ryan Creech of Leevale AC who finished second in the national marathon championship with a time of 2h 14m 08s.

Some strange/concerning results in the older age categories. A group of runners in the M 65 and M 70 age categories from the same country ( non Irish) finished holding hands but no evidence of passing thru the start, 10 km, half way nor 30 km mats. May be honest…Thorough investigation and banning if cheating detected. Makes a mockery of honest endeavor by decent athletes.
