As always, there was a huge turnout for the annual Evening Echo Women's mini-marathon with just over 6100 finishers. The race was won by Laura Crowe of An Ríocht AC in a close contest with Michelle Finn.

It's a shame a lot of the top female athletes especially in cork dont support this run. The standard is poor compared to most years.Great cause and well done to all who took part
Must be someone in particular you are thinking of John. Standard was good up front with two Olympians in the first five.
Who was the young girl who finished third? Her name doesn't appear in the results.
