Pedestrian bridge in Mahon now open again
The maintenance work on the pedestrian bridge in Mahon over the South Ring Road in Cork City has now been completed. The photo above shows it on the afternoon of Monday the 4th of September.
The original plan was that it going to be closed until next Saturday. The good news is that this means that the St.Luke's 5k will be going ahead as planned next Thursday. The bad news is that the bridge is still as steep as ever! :o))
In terms of the work, a new surface layer has been put down although it's not something that most people would even notice.

Ran on it on Sunday myself, seemed fine, think it would have good grip even in wet conditions too.
