The Cork BHAA races are some of the most popular on the road race calendar. In this post, we'll look back at what the most popular Cork BHAA races were in 2024.
As can be seen from the chart above, the most popular race was the John Buckley Sports 5k! In 2024, this one had over 1000 finishers and I think that might have been a first for a Cork BHAA race.
The next three were the PwC 5k, the Gas Networks Ireland 5k and the Musgrave 5k and all three were a step above the rest.
The numbers gradually taper away and the races are a mix of warm summer evening races and cool winter morning events.
The least popular race was the ESB cross country 5k and this reflects the fact that most people don't like cross country.
