Despite the wet and wild conditions, a total of 82 runners turned out for this 6km trail race on Sunday the 7th of February 2016. Organised by the Munster Mountain Running Association in Castlefreke Woods near Clonakilty, this was a welcome jump up from the 60 in Feb 2015.
As you can see from the photos above and below, it's a pretty unique race. It's starts in Castlefreke Woods and takes in Long Strand with the waves from the Atlantic pounding on the beach. I'd imagine that on a nice crisp sunny day, it would be even more spectacular.

The volunteers deserve a medal for standing out in that weather. Great race. Tree at the finish a nice touch too.
