Cork runners win Gold & Bronze at the World Masters Athletics Championships in France...

The World Masters Atheltics Championships are currently being held in Lyon, France between the 4th and 16th of August. On the opening day, two athletes from Cork were on the podium.

In the womens F45 category, Carmel Crowley of Bandon AC won Bronze in the 8000m race.

What a runner Carmel Parnell is , great stuff, also note Mick Traynor from Dublin in M50 and I note Angela Copson from the UK got a gold in F65, she is setting a lot of records for a lady "new" to the sport and was featured by the BBC re the 2015 London Marathon, thanks for the results John.

Also well done to Niamh O Sullivan of An Riocht, who came in 4th in her category in the 8000M.
