Cork runners take top spots at the Run Galway Bay 10k - Sat 1st Oct 2022

Last weekend was a busy weekend for Cork runners in various road races. On Saturday the 1st of October 2022, Cork runners Lizzie Lee and Alfie Davis of Leevale AC were the first woman and man over the finish line in the Run Galway Bay 10k.

This was a big race with a total of 1190 runners crossing the finish line.

What makes it unusual was that not only was Lizzie Lee the first woman but she finished well ahead of all the men as well!

Alfie Davis was the first man home and second overall. Alfie was 16-seconds clear of the second place man.
