This 5 mile road race is coming up in the village of Allihies on the Beara Peninsula on Saturday the 25th of June 2016. In terms of location, it must be one of the most scenic spots in the county.
Not so long ago there were no races on the Beara Peninsula. Now, there are 3 really spectacular ones...Bere Island, Eyeries and now Allihies.
The village of Allihies with its multi-coloured houses is located in one of the most scenic parts of the country and for anyone traveling some distance, this would be an excellent excuse for a weekend away.
Additional info from the organisers....The Heart of Allihies Five Mile run, the five mile run on the end of the fabulous Beara Peninsula. All of the money made on this event go to the Allihies Community Centre and the development of a new children's playground.
