First prize for the St.Lukes Home 5k next Thursday is a holiday in Europe!

How about this for a first prize! The St.Lukes Home 5k is coming up in Mahon next Thursday evening at 7pm. The main sponsor is RCI and they will be giving away a weeks accommodation in a resort in Europe for the first man and woman to cross the line.

I'm not exactly sure what the value of this prize is but it must be worth several hundred Euro. All you would need to do is to pay for the flights yourself.

All finishers will also receive a high viz vest which is handy considering the evenings are getting darker. There will also be a 20% discount given to all finishers from John Buckley Sports.

More details in this earlier post and on the race website.

Race is for a great cause but if St Lukes are looking for funding surely the accomodation prize should be open to all participants and not just the elite??

I think the problem is if they had the holiday prize as say a spot prize then the first place prizes would still have to be paid for.

Fully agree with comment 1, we will all be paying our tenner and giving other support to St Lukes during the year but only the very elite will vie for the top prizes, still good luck to the promoters, the entry fee is attractive plus location and course are tops, any event that charges a tenner or less should be supported to the utmost.

The Prize is open to everyone. It is not limited to a few specific entrants.Fitst past the post wins. That can be anyone.Fair play to them for offering decent prizes. The people who win are the ones who work the hardest and surely you wouldn't begrudge them a decent prize every now and then!!
