Clonakilty Parkrun one year on...

There are currently three 5k parkruns in Co.Cork and the second one to start was in Clonakilty. The first one there was held at the start of February 2014 and the one last Saturday marked the first anniversary.


As you can see from the chart above, the numbers at the start were high and then reduced somewhat as expected after the initial novelty and enthusiasm wore off. The numbers have continued around the 25-30 mark for most of the second half of 2014 but have picked up recently since the start of the new year. Perhaps the recent increase has something to do with the Operation Transformation TV show?

This 5k parkrun is held every Saturday morning in Clonakilty and it's free. You just need to be registered with parkrun to take part....all based on having a bar code to identify yourself. You can find out more about the Clonakilty parkrun HERE
