Cork runner Niamh Allen wins National 10k Championships in Co Meath - 23rd March 2025


The Dunboyne 10k road race was held on Sunday 23rd March 2025 and it also doubled up as the National 10k road race championship.

Cork runner Niamh Allen of Leevale AC won the women's title in a time of 31m 44s.

2 Annmarie MCGLYNN 33:07 508 F FS NAT FS Letterkenny A.C.
3 Ide NIC DHOMHNAILL 33:17 2 F FS NAT FS West Limerick A.C.

Niamh's time of 31:44 was also the fastest 10k time on Irish soil and only Sonia O’Sullivan and Catherina McKiernan have run faster times.

"The women’s race saw Niamh Allen of Leevale AC take first place (31.44), running the fastest 10k on Irish soil, and third fastest overall (Sonia O’Sullivan and Catherina McKiernan hold first and second record, but ran their races abroad). Niamh was followed in second place by Annmarie McGlynn of Letterkenny AC (33:07) and in third place was Ide Nic Domhnaill of West limerick AC (33:15)."

Leevale AC was also the first women's team.
