Great race last night, very enjoyable. Well stewarded and well supported. Terrific to have some of the runners present who ran the original race 60 years ago. Very tough course though, not a place to even think about PB's!
That was one hell of a hill for the final mile. I've done a good few 5k's and this one was by far the toughest. Great atmosphere at it and a brilliant spread afterwards, will be back next yr to try and better my time. Thanks to all involved.

For a first eventer this was a great show, pity that more of the regular running fraternity did not support it but as the runners had to be transported to the start the number was manageable. Tough dangerous course but totally safe with stewards all along the way, I know that the pre race work was huge as it was their first time organising a road race and it was imperative that the race be over the original course, their is a loop 5 km course there as well and the club should give cosideration to this next year as it would cut down a pile of the work. Fantastic to see Ted Geary present one of the Geary brothers of Cobh who were top distance men in the 50s, also present were John Cussen and Sean Spillane two of the club founders from 1952. Good on ya the Abbey.
very hard 5k I thought it was a great road race laid out very well .
