Results of the Shannonvale 10 km road race...Fri 26th July 2013

The Shannonvale 10 km road race was held on Friday, the 26th of July and attracted a field of 136 runners. While this event was held in previous years as a fun run, this is the first year that it has been held as a proper road race. The organisers in conjunction with Clonakilty Road Runners AC had the course properly measured by Jones Counter so that runners would know it was the correct distance and obtained an Athletics Ireland licence.

i thought is was wrong that there was no catogory prizes for either men or women,i have run loads of races in cork and all have prizes for different age groups, for 12e you would expect more.i,d find it hard to support such races in future.

Well done Michael Morgan. So near the front of the leading pack at every race, a win is very well deserved.

i also agree with poster about categories, put a bit of a damper on an otherwise great race, maybe something for organisers to think about for next year? for e12 don,t think its too much to ask.. not moaning had great evening its just i think the more mature runners deserve a little something as well as the top guys and gals.
