Galway City Marathon Cancelled...

For those of you who were thinking of doing this, the 2011 Galway City Marathon has been cancelled. This consisted of 3 events.......a full Marathon, a half Marathon and a shorter mini-marathon and was due to take place on the 28th of August.

Basically, Galway City Council have withdrawn permission for the event voicing traffic management concerns while the organisers blame the council for pulling the plug.

There was a short 2 minute report on the Nine O'Clock News on RTE on Thurs, the 4th of Aug.
