Notice...Carrigtwohill 5km road race - Wed 16th July 2014

The Carrigtwohill 5 km road race is coming up on Wednesday, the 16th of July 2014. The venue for the race is Barryscourt Castle just to the south of the town of Carrigtwohill in East Cork. This race always attracts a large crowd every year and is bound to attract a large turnout this year again.

The race which starts at 8pm costs €10 to enter and all proceeds are going to charity. There is also a walk starting at 6:30pm and that costs €5 to enter.

Registration will be available the evening before the 15th from 7pm to 9pm and on the day of the race (16th) from 1pm. Last entries 7:30pm.

€10 this year ??
It was €8 last year and €7 the previous year.
It's a very good race but these increases are worse than the stealth taxes.
I'll have to give it a skip this year.

The organisers have introduced chip timing this year which tends to add about €2 to an entry fee.

€10 would be in line with a lot of other races.

The extra cost this year is to cover chip timing by Precision Timing.This will make the race finish alot more streamlined.

The start is always hectic being quite narrow. Hopefully slower runners won't remain standing near the front.
