Garda hops on the Luas for the 2022 Dublin Marathon

Various media sources are covering the story of how an off-duty member of the Garda Anti-Corruption Unit used the Luas for part of this years Dublin Marathon!

It's reported that this individual did the first half of the marathon at 10-minutes per mile pace but the average for the second half was 6-minutes per mile! This then put them into the top 6% of all finishers.

A spokesperson for the Dublin Marathon organisers said that an investigation has been completed and the runner in question has handed back their finishing medal and t-shirt.

Their name and time has also been removed from the results.

Someone quipped that the person involved was named Carl Luas! 😂
