Cork BHAA calendar for 2023 announced

The Cork BHAA have released their provisional calendar for 2023 and there are 18 events listed. That is up from the announcement of 14 events for 2022 about a year ago. It's now pretty much back to business as usual.

There are all the usual races... the UCC 10k makes a return, the popular PwC 5k is on again and there is the usual busy Summer of evening races.

The one that I noticed has changed is that the Defence Forces have gone from 5k to 4-miles.

They have the Cork to Cobh 15-mile listed for October but I can't see it going ahead with the current traffic levels.

The list is provisional so there are bound to be some changes.

Regarding Cork to Cobh
I would expect that there should be sufficient progress on the Glanmire to Carritwohill greenway, that one could use the new walkways and get past all the Dunkettle works safely.
It would require a bit of remeasuring.
The earlier start time of 8am should be enable most runners to get beyond the Belvelly bridge chokepoint before traffic levels build up.
However, the 8am start does mean that the runners could be running with the rising sun barely above the horizon ahead of them (Sunrise 07:34)

Cork Mental Health Staff 5k Little Island -- this could be the first evening race in Little Island for many years (Sunset 20:26)
But there is full LED lighting on all of this course.

It looks like an exciting year ahead .. :)
