Notice...Cork City FC 5k run in Curraheen - Sun 9th Oct 2016

This new 5k run organised by Cork City FC is coming up on Sunday the 9th of October 2016.

Registration is also available on the morning of the event and it will be timed.

From the organisers....Cork City FC, in association with Marymount, are delighted to announce our first ever 5K Fun Run to take place at 10:30AM, Sunday 9th October, 2016, starting and finishing near the Bishopstown Training Ground at Curraheen.

The Fun run is for both serious and casual runners, and walkers, of any age. Being active by running, jogging, or walking is to be encouraged, evidence shows that undertaking physical activity can help to prevent disease, maintain a healthy weight, and promote mental health and well-being.

With €100 first prize for 1st male, and another €100 for 1st female, there are sure to be more than a few runners that will want the honour of claiming the cash along with the prestige of winning our first ever fun run.

There is €50 for 2nd place, and €25 for 3rd place, for male and female, to be competed for also.

Our 1st place under 16 male, and 1st place under 16 female, will both receive a €25 voucher each.

Over 20 other spot prizes will be awarded at the event, including best dressed participant, and most unique style.

Refreshments will be available at the training ground upon completion.

The entry fee is €10 per adult, €5 per Under 16, and €25 per family.

We ask that you leave your pets at home for this event, and also no bicycles!

The proceeds from this event will be split evenly between Marymount and our underage development structure.

Registration will open for the run at 9:00AM on the morning of the run. A large group of participants is expected, so please car-pool to the event if possible. Parking for up to 60 cars is available at the Bishopstown Training Ground; please respect the parking around residential areas near the event.

Lets get out there and support our club. its for a good cause. and will also benefit the youth at cork city fc too . A big turn out to ensure a sucessful event
