Results of the Rebel Run 10k & 5k...Sun 8th Nov 2015

Conditions for this years Rebel Run were pretty awful with high winds and driving rain. A total of 266 took part in the 10k while there were 61 in the 5k. Considering there were over 400 pre-entered, a lot of people took the decision to stay at home.

Huge thanks to all the organisers who braved the conditions to allow the 10k and new 5k go ahead. Lots of support and encouragement from everyone all the way. Well done to all who participated, it was a tough enough course. We were very lucky with the rain in the end.

Well done to all involved - its one thing to compete on a wet day, quite another to stand around for hours or go out checking for puddles, leaves etc. Much appreciated!

Thanks to all involved in organizing today,s race. Thanks to the stewards and the water station, running was probably easier than either of these jobs today considering the conditions. My third year running in this race and it gets better each year.

Same as above but it cannot be said often enough.. well done to all who were involved in organizing this event. Not fun standing at turns and corners but fair play to each and every steward.. THANK YOU

It was tough enough to run yesterday but it must have been so much tougher for all those stewards to even turn up on such a morning. A massive big thank you to the stewards and everyone else involved !

Well done to all involved. This really is an excellently run event, from stewarding, road markings, start/finish area. a lot of other races could learn a lot from these guys. A really good route as well with a good mix of ups and downs. The new finishing section around the walkway was great also. Will definitely be back this year.

Agree with all of the comments above. Hats off to all involved. On a slightly negative note, was the 10k measured a little long? I know Garmin measurements aren't always in sync with properly Jones measured courses, but my Garmin read 6.36 miles at the end yesterday which is greater than the normal margin of error with my Garmin (eg over marathon distance Garmin might read 26.4 rather than 26.2).

Posted thanks in first post above. Agreeing with above, For race length accuracy my Garmin was 5m off at 5k mark, 20m at 8k, but +10.280km at finish. Seems a bit much of an error all right. Talking to others at finish, they thought the same.

Assuming the 8k and 5ml mark are fairly close, I was happy enough at that stage as I was not always taking the running line. However my Garmin came in at 6.38 at the finish which I thought was bit much... I was at 10K coming onto the track
