On the 15th of April, explosions near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon killed three people and injured more than 260. As a result, the roads were closed and those still out on the course were unable to finish the full Marathon.
This weekend, five weeks late in a symbolic gesture, thousands of runners were able to finish the final mile of Boston Marathon. The event was billed as "OneRun", with the slogan: "We'll get our finish."
Three American flags and one Chinese were carried in remembrance of three people who died by the finishing line, and the policeman killed days later.
The OneRun organiser Alain Ferry said......."It was very emotional to run down this street and see all the people cheering. For the runners that didn't get the chance to finish the marathon, this is the chance for them to experience the final mile that was taken away from them."
