The 5k parkrun in Macroom hit a new milestone last Saturday with the 350th running of the event!
The first 5k parkrun in Dublin was in Malahide in November of 2021 and the Macroom event was the first one in Cork starting just six months later on the 18th of May 2013.
Behind that figure of 350 events is a huge amount of work done by the various volunteers over the years and all for free.
There are now nine 5k parkruns in Cork with the event in Youghal being the newest one starting just a few weeks ago in October of 2021. I'd expect in time, we'll see more several more 5k parkruns around the county.
