Record numbers for the Ballincollig 5k parkrun...Sat 21st Jan 2017
With the TV programme Operation Transformation in full swing, a record 448 people took part in this weeks 5k parkrun in Ballincollig Regional Park. That's up from the previous record of 397 which was set last week.
It's a pretty amazing concept if you step back and think about it. 400 plus people taking part in a free organised run which is organised by volunteers. It's not hard to see why the parkrun concept has proved so popular.

Now wouldnt it be great if we could get Tramore Valley Park Run going again.
How come there isn't one in Doneraile Park? That would be a perfect location
No sign of the park at Tramore Valley opening anytime soon unfortunately so that has to happen before we can re-open negotiations about reviving the parkrun.
As for Doneraile, just needs a local group to form a core team of volunteers & get one off the ground. That's how parkrun works :)
