Fast forward to November and the track is now under water. The photo below shows the Danny McDaid Track at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny and what it used to look like...(notice the yellow arrow on the left)...
This is the view from where the yellow arrow is after all the recent rain...
Whether its just need some cleaning or if there is more longer term damage remains to be seen. If the water gets under the track surface then they could be in right trouble.

Born and brought up in the area,a lot of this is due to the fact that the River Swilly runs through the town and will burst its banks on heavy rains and high tidal surges, also the entrance from the main road , if travelling from the town towards Glenswilly, is a pure downward gradient where flood waters have no place to rest except on the track , much compared to Letterkenny general hospital if anyone is familiar with the A&E there.Like the perfect storm , with heavy rain and high tides, such as we have had over the last few days, it will flood which is a pity.
We finished the Donegal marathon on it in August. They have a great facility there.
