Notice...Kilworth Army Camp 5 mile road race - Fri 9th May 2014

This 5 mile road race in Kilworth Army Camp is coming up in NE Cork on Friday, the 9th of May 2014 at 7:30pm. This is located between the towns of Mitchelstown and Fermoy. This is also the first race of six in the Ballyhoura Cork Race Series.



Organised by Grange Fermoy AC, the race takes place inside the Army grounds on private roads. The race starts at 7:30pm.



Directions......The army camp is just off the old road from Fermoy to Mitchelstown in North-East Cork and is very easy to access from the M8 motorway...take exits 13 or 14 as shown on the map above. Sign on for this race this year is at Ned Roches Pub which is situated near the top of the hill on the old main Cork - Dublin road.

More info from the organisers...Grange Fermoy AC...The first race in the Ballyhoura starts off on Friday the 9th of May 2014. Registration will take place in Ned Roaches pub which is 400 meters from Gloccamora pub on the old Fermoy, Mitchelstown road. The race itself is started a half mile from the pub and is 5 miles, which is a two loop course of Kilworth hill contrary to its name it is pretty flat. The course record for men is 24.41 and the ladies is 29.27 If you can beat these times there is a special prize, and there is a prize fund of €2000 on the night.

Travelling from Mitchelstown take the old Fermoy road up by Gloccamora Turn right just after the pub and 400 meters on the left is Ned Roaches pub and race head quarters. Coming from Fermoy take the road out by Moorpark and when you pass Corbett Court you take the left just before Gloccamora and Ned Roaches pub is 400 meters down on the right.

Please arrive as early as possible.
