Really tough conditions in Ballinacurra this morning. Driving rain, wind, and flooded roads. Made it all the more enjoyable. Credit to Ballinacurra GAA - in such appalling weather, they had at least 2 stewards at all junctions out on the course, good food in the clubhouse afterwards, and more important that anything, hot showers available afterwards ! The course was nice - a mix of mostly flat, but with a couple of drags at 1.5 and 4 miles. Hopefully, it becomes annual event. They deserve better weather next year.
Well said Johnny, thanks to all the stewards as it certainly wasn't weather for the faint hearted. It's a very fair race over the distance and as for the hot showers all I can say is a huge thank you. Life saving.
showers were a must after that race, awful weather out there but a nice route and a nice and early start time. Glad I did it.
This race was a credit to Ballinacurra GAA and East Cork AC (who got the permit) it was superbly organised.Hopefully it will become a feature on the annual calender.
