Race notice...Newmarket 5k - Sun 18th Dec 2011

Coming up at 1pm on Sunday, the 18th of December, there is a new 5 km road race in the town of Newmarket in north-west Cork. There is a change this year from the usual Newmarket to Kanturk 5 mile route.

The 5k course which will be accuratedly measured is reasonably flat and should result in fast finish times. Located in the north-west of the county, it's within easy reach of runners in Cork city, Mallow, Limerick and Kerry. All proceeds from the race are going to an equipment fund for Mallow hospital.
