Now for something different...
Many of you will know that the Great North Run in Newcastle in the north-east of England was on recently on Sunday, the 18th of September. What you may not know is that there was 2 km race for wheelchair athletes through the Tyne tunnel on the Friday beforehand. With a long downhill section, it is claimed to be the fastest wheelchair race in the world with the fastest participants hitting 50 mph (80 kph).
The 2011 race was won by Canadian Josh Cassidy in a time of 3:33 winning the event for a third time.
