Construction of new road in Ringaskiddy to start Oct 2024

As part of the M26 motorway project, a new road is going to be built in Ringaskiddy. There are several Cork BHAA races in this area and the construction of new roundabouts may have some impact on them.

A map showing the route of the new road is shown above. It is approximately 1.5km of single-carriageway road from the R613 at Barnahely, to the existing local road just east of Ringaskiddy Village. Three roundabouts will be installed at Barnahely, the Loughbeg road just north of Ringport Business Park and on the existing L2545 local road.

Initial construction will begin with Ringaskiddy Roundabout just east of Ringaskiddy Village in mid-October 2024.

The whole project is expected to take 20-months which gives a completion date of sometime around June 2026.
