DCU study shows 25% of Irish children lack basic motor skills

A study published by Dublin City University found that 25% of Irish children lack basic motor skills. It found that one in four students between the ages of five and 12 cannot run properly, one in two cannot kick a ball, and less than one in five cannot throw a ball.

So much more needs to done by the average parent to encourage their children to be more active. When I think about the wide range of benefits of being an active person as one grows older it seems that adults themselves are the ones that need to be shown and even told what they need to do to normalise an active life.
