Perhaps it was all the new years resolutions but there was a bumper turn out for the 5k parkruns in Co Cork on the first Saturday of 2019. A grand total of 829 people took part which is pretty amazing for what are completely free events. That's up 35% on the previous week.
As the chart above shows, the Ballincollig parkrun accounts for over 50% of this with 430 turning up there alone.
As time goes on, the running scene is gradually changing. With the new 5k parkrun in Mallow starting soon, it looks as if more people will be doing parkruns in 2019.
