George Brennan of the Cork BHAA ...RIP

A bit of sad news this time. George Brennan pictured here on the left was the treasurer for the Cork BHAA for many years and was often to be seen at the finish line of many races over the years.

From the Cork BHAA...... It is with great sadness that we learnt that George Brennan passed away this morning. George was a long time committee member and anybody who came to races with us would have seen him at the finish line with his clicker. He was missed at races in the last year or so but kept tabs on races from afar. George was our treasurer and officially retired from that position a few years back but continued to assist on all matters financial until recently in spite of his failing health.

Arrangements will be posted here when we have them.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

God bless George, he was a colleague of mine Michael Travers, Bus Eireann driver, Capwell, Cork. George worked in the stores/maintenance dept. therein. I came to know him before my joining up with BHAA, & found him then & since to be a most helpful, friendly & encouraging man. He was a thorough gentleman. Missed by many I am sure, I am sad today.
