Stephen O'Mahony of Skibbereen AC...RIP

I was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Stephen O'Mahony of Skibbereen AC. Stephen was regular on the race circuit throughout the county and often featured in the category prizes.

Stephen was in the same age category as myself and we often competed against each other in various road championships and races over the last decade. He was always a good marker for me and I knew that if I was able to stay up with him then I was doing well.

Stephen had a long involvement in athletics and used to organise a race in his native Rosscarbery back in the 1980's.
