The hurdles race is a highly technical event in which an athlete must have everything mastered to a fine art.
From the start...X number of steps to the first hurdle...use the same lead leg....land on the same foot...X number of steps to the next hurdle...and so on as the cycle repeats. For all the world, the athlete is like a finely tuned machine.
All very well until the race officials put the hurdles in the wrong place! Check out the 7th set of hurdles at the Men's 110m hurdles race at the 2016 Jesse Owens Track Classic recently.
Fortunately, no-one was seriously injured and the race was re-run later.

Such a small crowd at the meet. Pity.
