Was there ever an answer from St. Finbarrs on whether the Blarney half was short last September?
It's a great race but I couldn't vote for it as best half in 2013 if it was short.

Best 10 Mile has to be The Great Island 10 (Cobh)
Reason: Good race, well organised event AND the event and its organisers raise a massive amount of money for the Irish Cancer Society...I'm open to correction, but, so far, they've raised/donated something like €130,000 for the ICS.
Disclaimer: I am living with Prostate Cancer and also do whatever I can to promote Cancer services
half = charleville
full = cork
10 mile - Ballycotton 10
Reason - It's a race for the athletes, the prizes are not too fancy and the organisation is amazing considering that it is a cul de sac in the village.
Half-Marathon - Waterford AC
Reason - Again it's a race for the athletes, prizes are not too fancy and the organisation is great
Marathon - Cork
Reason - I am not a marathon runner and I suppose I am being a little biased being from Cork, but I love the atmosphere on marathon day in Cork City.

Half.... dingle as scenery absolutely stunning, atmosphere fantastic, well organised and finishes outside the door of a pub. bus brings runners back to town later. Definitely deserves the gold medal for half marathons.
10 mile ... Great Island 10 for the atmosphere and also a very worthy cause and all runners, walkers , joggers welcome.

I cannot believe there was even 1 vote for the Killarney full marathon. It was organised as a good half and little or no thought given to the full distance. My point is strengthened by the fact the made us run 1k into the wood at Rosscastle before making us turn around again with a bracket with the logo 'cycle Killarney 2013' and all this at mile 22. There was plenty more to give out about it but even thinking about that race for more than a few seconds gets me angry.
