One of the great athletes from the 1980's, Olympic 400m hurdles champion Ed Moses won gold at the Montreal and Los Angeles games and broke the world record four times. He was so dominant at his sport that he would have almost certainly won a gold at the Moscow games if it wasn't for the US boycott.
His long stride meant that he chopped between the barriers with 13 rather than the conventional 14 steps and he amassed an unprecedented sequence of 107 finals unbeaten. The Telegraph has an interview with him HERE
