Guest Post: John Buckley 10 mile ...by Pat Walsh

 ** John Buckley 10 mile **

Good to see the return of a classic Cork run. New HQ in the Marina Market and that was fantastic. Super venue. It was warm still at 5pm, but after all we have gone through who cares. Delighted to be there.

Met some old friends (clarification needed) they are not old, but friends of a long standing nature. 10 miles + a bit …(not sure what happened there 10.17 for a 10ml) and 100 hugs.

Nice to be back on the old Railway Line route that has reopened as a Greenway and the surface is fantastic for running.

Anyone not from Cork please skip this paragraph..! When you run along the Banks of my own lovely Lee and the route goes around Pairc Ui Caoimh then my heart is as light as any runner. #Nirvana

Enough of all that. Great to be running races, great to meet everyone again, great to put all the last few years behind us. If you have not discovered the magic yet all I can say is don’t postpone it for too long. It isn’t easy to race again but it is rewarding.

The pain of pushing, the pain of testing your body, the joy of finishing, the joy of knowing you can still do it, the smiles, the crack, the laughs, the comments, the supporters, the grub afterwards, the garmin analysis, the running pics online. Now ask yourself, when is my next race.
