Wind and rain forecast for the 5k in Cork Airport

The forecast isn't great for the 5k in Cork Airport on Friday night with high winds and an 80% chance of rain. There is usually a lot of standing around and waiting around for the start of this run so it's very easy to get chilled.

The first 1.5 miles of the course will be into a strong headwind and if it's wet, it will be pretty unpleasant. Just make sure that you wear proper gear for the conditions. Remember that you will be 600ft above sea level and the course is very exposed.

The temperature is likely to be around 13 deg C so the second half will be better.

My Run Results are looking after the chip timing and they will have the results up on their website... https://www.myrunresults.com/events/spar_cork_airport_5k_-_runway_run/2805/results

Very enjoyable race after all. Weather not so bad and no hanging around outside for ages like last year. Better organised than last year i thought. Nice goody bag too. Well done to the organisers.

Never again. Should be held in the Summer when the weather is better.
