There was a bizarre incident where a large blue articulated truck came onto Centre Park Road, within seconds of the race starting.
Did this get in the way of the elite runners ?
Apart from that, all went smoothly.
CHIP timing certinaly eases the conjestion at finish line.
How does a man win Ladies O/55...???
Mark had to mount the step to avoid the truck and lost a few seconds but the rest of us got away with it just about. Great standard . .
I wouldn't think there was any time lost I was not much behind Mark but none the less it shouldn't of happened
I could not believe that a small child of about six was allowed. He had a number and was running all over the place and seemed to have no one with him. Very irresponsible and accident waiting to happen.
Isn't it about time there was a cap on numbers at some of the races? The first half mile was v dodgy, all it would take was one person to lose their footing and a lot of people could get hurt. I suppose it is a testament to the excellent work of the BHAA but still something that should be addressed.
Hi seen army came second in team cat b who was on that team please and wat is cat b
To anon, each member of the prize winning teams has their rank beside them in the results. The 3 people with MB2 beside them would be the winners.
Yes I saw that small child too. There was no one in charge of him and he would have been very seriously injured if someone knocked him over with the crowds that were there.
Did anyone come across the idiot running with what sounded like a ghetto blaster ?.The music was so loud I thought it was a car behind me until I looked. Why should runners be subjected to someone else's music.Headphones are banned even though many still wear them but this is totally stupid and should be stopped immediately.
Thanks Brian I won mb2 prize just wondering who has or where do I get it ny name is Sean Mcinerney
Great race and well organised. If chip timing is going to be used why isnt there a starting mat so everyone gets an accurate time from the point they cross the start line til passing over the finish line?
Heard d guy with the loud music too. Why would you bring that to a race i don't know. Garmin only recorded this as 4.91 km anyone else with a garmin notice this or maybe I didn't press it on the line?
I wouldn't agree with capping the numbers. The volume of runners of all levels, make for a special atmosphere that has in spades. Granted the start is a bit congested but it filtered out after a few minutes. Lots of runs have this at the start. I'd love to see this race go over 1000 entrants. I also like the fact that John Buckley Sports are the sponsors of this very popular run. They have been so good over the years with time and advice to runners, and in a way I like to think the amount doing this run is a thumbs up to John Buckley. Will John Buckley Sports be doing the 10 miler in September this year?
