Ben does Life...one runners journey...

There are many reasons why people take up running........Maybe it's the challenge of trying to run a certain distance?....or just want to get fitter?........or because they just want to join in some activity with their friends?.......or trying to lose a bit of weight?

I came across this video of Ben Davis. He started running to change his life...

Just do it - it's simple as that. Check out this guy who went from a 16.5 stone smoker to a 2:19 marathoner in two and a half years - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VCkw-gSnLjc

Thanks for the links. Inspiring stuff... it IS always possible, whatever the weight or ability. I'm not quite in those guys' leagues, but I went from an almost 18-stone pizza-muncher in 2008 to a sub-4 marathoner (almost 6 stone lighter) 1 week ago in Limerick (not to mention a 4:15 marathon in Cork last year). Marathon #3 coming up in 4 weeks in Cork!!! It's amazing what can happen with just a pair of runners and some open road.

My story is something similar, I have lost 9 stone in the last 15months and doing the Cork Marathon this year. I am hoping for a sub 4 hours, indeed there is hope, I will do it. See me on face book ...William Gerard O Brien. I have gone from 122 Kgs to 71 kgs to day.

Hi John,
Just looked at your online race calendar.
I noted that the Churchtown South 5m race is on 28th July.
Is this date correct - the Thurs before the Bank Holiday weekend?
Booked a family holiday and have only realised the dates have clashed.
Please advise
Thanks
