The Irish Sports Council announced today their grants for high performance sports in 2011....(Updated 18th Feb 2011)
From the press release....
"€7.8 million is being invested in high performance sports in 2011. The Irish Sports Council made a decision to maintain funding at the 2010 levels as the coming year is the vital preparation and qualification year for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games."
In terms of athletics, they gave grants under the term 'Podium Category' to the following...
Derval O'Rourke (60/100m Hurdles), Robert Heffernan (20/50km Racewalking), David Gillick (400m) and Olive Loughnane (20km Racewalking).
