Just a few snippets of news....
1) I have made a few changes to the sidebar on the right hand side of the website. I have included a section so that you can see what the recent comments are which should make checking for updates a bit easier.
I have also included a direct link to the Road Race calendar for Munster.....there are races outside of Cork you know! ;o)
2) Cross Country.....there are plenty of photos up now for the Munster AAI event near Macroom last Sunday. I also put up a video from John O'Driscoll for the race in Carrignavar last Sunday week. It shows the early stages of the mens race and the finish of the ladies races. Scroll down the page to see it.
3) The Munster Ten-Mile Spring Classics Series will be starting off in January with the Mallow 10 mile road race. This is an excellent series and is great training for anyone thinking about doing the Cork City Marathon next summer.
4) ....and speaking about the Cork City Marathon, there are some proposed changes for next year which should be of interest to a lot of people. It's not that the course is changing or anything like that but if it goes ahead, it will be a major change. Details are likely to be announced in November.
5) Ballycotton '10'....2011!! The date for the 2011 Ballycotton is Sunday, the 6th of March. Details about entries will be made public in the next week or so. If it follows the pattern of recent years then the entry forms will be coming out at the start of December.......however, the key sentence here is....'if it follows'!!
Update....details coming on Friday 22nd Oct
As soon as there is more info, I'll put it up here.

Ah John
You cannot leave us in suspense on the proposed change to the marathon.
If the course doesn't change, then what else?
Sponsor? Not exactly a huge change?
No relays? Not a good option.
a "running Festival" event - say a 1k kids run/5k/10K on the sunday, and then an official HALF, and a FULL on the Monday.
The date/day? June bank holiday is a good date, but the Sunday would be better than the Monday for many people. Is this it???
How about a hint?
This is what the internet is all about- rumours and gossip!!
Hi Richard
As far as I know, the course will be the same.
The sponsor is the same and it will be on the Bank holiday Monday.
I would imagine that the Relay will follow the same format as before even if there are minor changes.
The proposed change if it goes ahead WILL be of interest to a lot of people and should attract more numbers to the overall event.
I wonder what it could be?? ;o)
