Cork runners take titles at 2026 Adare 10k race

The annual Adare 10k organised by West Limerick AC was held on Sun 22nd Feb 2026. The first man and woman home were Cork runners Paul Moloney of Mallow AC and Sinead O'Connor of Leevale AC.

2026 Adare 10k sells out in just 3-hours

The Adare 10k in Co Limerick is one of the most popular 10k races in Munster and the 2026 edition will be held on Sunday the 22nd of February.

The 1000 entries went on sale at 6am on Friday the 31st of October and amazingly, they sold out in about 3 hours!

The full entry fee with the t-shirt option is about €40 so it's not the cheapest of races but this higher price did nothing to quell the demand.

In comparison, the 2025 race sold out in 11 hours. The 2024 race was under 48 hours and the 2023 race was 9-days.

The race is organised by West Limerick AC and it's taken a lot of work over many years to make it such a success.

Results & Photos of the Adare 10k - Sun 26th Feb 2023

Another big race last weekend (Sun 26th Feb 2023) was the ever popular Adare 10k in Co Limerick where there 773 finishers. This is one of the most popular races in Limerick and sold out months ago.

Looking through the results, there were loads of runners from Co Cork taking part as well.

1000 places for the Adare 10k sell out in 8-days

 

West Limerick AC are the organisers of the Adare 10k road race and it is coming up on the 26th of February 2023.

The entries for this race went on sale on Friday the 27th of October and all 1,000 places sold out in just 8-days!

A lot of the road races locally have seen much lower numbers this year compared to those back in 2019 before the pandemic. It's encouraging to see such a strong demand for this race in 2023 which shows that races can be successful if the organisers can market them properly.

It's also a little unusual in that the high demand is usually for events like the 10-mile and the half-marathon. Maybe there should be more 10k races if the interest for this one is anything to go by?

The Adare 10k in Co Limerick is one of the most popular 10k races in Munster and sells out every year.

The 2023 edition is coming up on Sunday the 26th of February and online entries will open in the next few weeks.

If you're interested then be sure to check for the opening dates for online entries to avoid disappointment.

Notice: Adare 10k in W Limerick - Sun 27th Feb 2022

The annual Adare 10k road race is coming up on Sunday the 27th of February 2022 at 1pm.

Organised by West Limerick AC, this is a hugely popular race and attracts a large field of about 700 runners, way beyond the usual 200 or so that most races get. It sells out every year.

Update 18th Jan 2022: This race has now sold out! It's really impressive to see such strong demand for this race with 1000 places filled. While many races struggle to attract runners, others are going from strength to strength.

The first batch of 600 went on sale on the 4th of November 2021 and filled out within days. The second batch of 400 went on sale on the 14th of January and sold out in about three days.
