Tipp athlete Aimee Hayde breaks Sonia O'Sullivan's 32 year old schools record for 800m

Someone sent this piece on to me.

From the Nenagh Guardian...."Aimee Hayde enhanced further her status as a rising star of Irish athletics by breaking a 32 year old record set by legend Sonia O'Sullivan at the Irish Life Health Munster Schools Track & Field Championships in Cork IT last weekend.

The Newport AC athlete, representing St Mary's Secondary School Newport won the intermediate girls 800m on Saturday in a time of 2.07.74, which was also a European Youth Olympics qualification mark.

Her time was also over three seconds faster than the Munster schools record of 2.10.09 set by Sonia O'Sullivan in 1987. "
