Woman Runs 7 Marathons on 7 Continents in 7 Days in record time

British runner Susannah Gill has just successfully completed seven marathons on seven continents in seven days to win the World Marathon Challenge in the fastest time by a women athlete. The seven successive marathons were in Antarctica, Cape Town, Perth, Dubai, Madrid, Santiago and Miami.

Her slowest time was in Antarctica where she ran 3h 53m 55s in temperatures of -35 deg C. Her fastest time was in Madrid where she ran 3h 11m 49s. Even more amazing was the fact that her average time for all seven marathons was 3 hours and 28 minutes!

The entry fee for the World Marathon Challenge is a 'mere' €36,000 as a chartered plane brings the contestants around the world. To date, fewer than 200 people have completed the annual “777” challenge.
