Results of the Grant Thornton 5k in Cork City - Wed 13th June 2018

The Grant Thornton Corporate 5k was held in Cork City on Wed 13th June with 784 finishers, down a bit on last year. With an entry fee of €120 for a team of four, this commercial race certainly wasn't cheap with an average cost of €9.68 per mile.

Strange that this clashed with the BHAA race. Why is this popular with the cost of it, or is it just because companies pay? Maybe it's the free t-shirt!

I suspect that a lot of companies pay for the entry fee. It's hard to imagine too many employees coming up with €120 between four of them to enter a 5k.

Is it a commercially run event or does money go to charity?

It's a joke of a race, no prizes for coming in the top 3!!!

Principle here is to run as part of a team . Get over it top 3 is always going to be a minority . Great event all proceeds as I understand going to charity .

'Get over it top 3 is always going to be a minority' - Are you serious? Of course its a minority, its the top level, that's why there should be prizes.

It certainly isn't a charity event.
