Course change is a huge positive from last year with a little less of a climb up to mile 5 but a much more runnable  downhill for 3 or 4 miles to finish. As with previous years the level of stewarding along with active garda traffic on the roads meant it ran really really well. Water stops with small bottles is great. Plenty tea and grub for those at the finish who wanted it. An enjoyable day was had by all I met afterwards. Great to see so many of the community out helping for he 2 causes. Finishers top is also really nice. May not be everyones but in my opinion it's also a good idea to limit the number of them to those that entered by the deadline to increase what you can give to the two designated causes. But fair play to ye for giving out last year's to those that signed up today. Really couldn't fault anything about it and looking forward to next year's event.

The village of Clondulane did itself proud yet again with this event. Fantastic stewarding, supporters and festive atmosphere in the village. Most of the new route is based on a national primary road, traffic management was excellent and the road conditions and fast finish more than compensate for the drag in the first few miles. One for the 2018 Diary. PS - turning off the wind next year would make the event faultless.

a really tough race but very well organised. Hard to steward it on a very busy main road but great kudos to the organising team.
A few points of positive feedback.

1. In the small hall where there changing facilities were, the route to the ladies toilets was through a dark, cluttered storage room ... no lighting was apparent and little signage (if any) was on show. It was a health and safety risk and caused confusion and bewilderment.

2. The 75 min pacers abandoned their post early on and probably ended up sub 70. Not sure if pacers were supposed to be on offer but both (1 male and 1 female) clearly had "75 min pacer" signed stuck to on the backs at the start.
They left us poor misfortunes aiming for 75 minutes for dead going up the hill.
For next year you either have pacers or don't have pacers.

Enjoyed the run, although seemed to be a lot of uphill, but the downhill finish then was nice. Actually wasn't aware there were pacers, and didn't know who/what the minutes silence was for at the start, maybe it was mentioned while I was warming up away from the registration / start areas. Anyway, good event, good top, thanks to the organizers!

Was there chipped timing? I don't remember going over anything at the beginning and I don't seem to see them on the results.

Great event this year. Really liked the new course. A challenge all the same but the route through Coolnagowan was a welcome . It helped me to pick up the pace a bit more . The hill uphill were a challenge . But the strong breeze did not help matters . Thought we would have it behind us on the way back. Did not happen . Overall a well organized great support all around. Great food . . Pacers were not visible which was a pity but other than that a fab day. Well done to everyone involved. Now i know where Coolnagowan is. lol

Here are some points sent on by the organisers...
1) We couldn't use the pacing balloons because of the wind. The 75 minute pacer lost the run of himself(excuse the pun) we can only apologize for this.
2) As regards the toilets there was portaloos out side the hall and a toilet in the hall. The light was off in the second room in the hall because nobody was supposed to be in there.
3) The minute silence at the start was to pay respects to Curly Cunningham, this was announced earlier that we would give the first minute of the race to mark his sad passing, probably should have said it again at the line, but hard to think of everything, sorry.
4) We do our best to give good value for money but there is always going to be, hopefully only a few minor issues. We feel and hope the majority of our competitors enjoyed the race and with the help of God we hope to see many of you again in 2018.

Second year running this. Excellent in most aspects again. Nice touch with the minutes silence, great grub after, well stewarded, everyone home safe, lovely tee shirt again this year. Tough course but slightly easier route alright. Couldn't fault it,great to see local (North Cork) races so well organised again. Well done all concerned. See you next year. No to medals either, absolute waste of money and no one wants them.

Third year for Blackwater 10 and my third year running it. Believe it or not I preferred the old route, hard and all as it was I missed the small winding country roads and would have loved to run in less traffic. On the positive side the hill home was a joy and running through the village of Coolnagowan was a treat. Over all another great year, lovely t-shirt and as usual a feed worth running 10 miles for. looking forward to next year. Thanks to everyone involved, can only imagine how much more work was involved this year, especially as a lot of the run was on a busy road.... till next time..
