Believe it or not I preferred the old route, hard and all as it was I missed the small winding country roads and would have loved to run in less traffic. On the positive side the hill home was a joy and running through the village of Coolnagowan was a treat. Over all another great year, lovely t-shirt and as usual a feed worth running Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36499493.post-55608346474390689762017-05-24T17:58:50.955+01:002017-05-24T17:58:50.955+01:00Second year running this. Nice touch with the minutes silence, great grub after, well stewarded, everyone home safe, lovely tee shirt again this year. Tough course but slightly easier route alright. Couldn't fault it,great to see local (North Cork) races so well organised again. Well done all concerned. See you next year. ...Here are some points sent on by the organisers...
1) We couldn't use the pacing balloons because of the wind. The 75 minute pacer lost the run of himself(excuse the pun) we can only apologize for this.
2) As regards the toilets there was portaloos out side the hall and a toilet in the hall. The light was off in the second room in the hall because nobody was supposed to be in thereJohn Desmondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02156613639160765654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36499493.post-78963552609516110642017-05-23T09:37:49.131+01:002017-05-23T09:37:49.131+01:00Maybe have tshrit for pacers next year or bibs wit...Maybe have tshrit for pacers next year or bibs with the pace on them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36499493.post-21177273010276660182017-05-23T09:34:53.905+01:002017-05-23T09:34:53.905+01:00The change of route was just great its a great cou...The change of route was just great its a great course now with some nice hills which i love defo will be back next year well done to all involved. It helped me to pick up the pace a bit more . The hill uphill were a challenge . But the strong breeze did not help matters . Thought we would have it behind us on the way back. Did not happen . Actually wasn't aware there were pacers, and didn't know who/what the minutes silence was for at the start, maybe it was mentioned while I was warming up away from the registration / start areas. Fantastic stewarding, supporters and festive atmosphere in the village. Most of the new route is based on a national primary road, traffic management was excellent and the road conditions and fast finish more than compensate for the drag in the first few miles. One for the 2018 Diary. As with previous years the level of stewarding along with active garda traffic on the roads meant it ran really really well. Water stops with small bottles is great. Plenty tea and grub for those at the finish who wanted it. An enjoyable day wasAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
